Remember there is no SBE luncheon in the month of December.
SBE Headquarters Needs Biz Cards...
We've had a request from SBE headquarters to supply them with
business cards on which any of the following certification levels
are shown:
CSTE
CBT
CEA
CEV
CBTE
CBRE
CTO
CRO
They are needed to document their usage so that SBE can apply to
the Federal Trade Commission to register them as service marks.
This can only be done if usage can be demonstrated. If you have
such a business card, send one to Linda Baun, SBE, 9247 North
Meridian Street, Suite 305, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
CBNT Seminar And Test Set For Saturday February 12th At KTVU In Oakland
The CBNT seminar is set for Saturday Feb 12th, 2005 at KTVU in
Oakland. We will assemble for coffee at 8 AM and begin at 8:30.
There will be a morning break, a lunch break, and an afternoon
break. The test will be given at 3:30 and up to 3 hours will be
allowed to finish it. Rather than register on site we prefer that
you file your application directly with SBE headquarters. Go to
www.sbe.org, click on SBE Certification
Program, then click on Certified Broadcast Network Technologist.
That will open up the application form as a PDF file.
(
Or Click Here!). Print out the form and mail it in with the
registration fee. Note on the form that you want to take the test
at the Feb. 12th KTVU seminar.
I'm looking for vendors who would be willing to sponsor the coffee
breaks and the brown bag lunch during the seminar. If you are
interested please contact Roy Trumbull at [email protected] .

Classic Bay Area Air Checks...
Mike Schweizer, who known as a local phone / tech god for various
Bay Area stations, has been airchecking Bay Area radio stations
since the late sixties. He passed on a couple of DVDs of airchecks
(only a fraction of his archive) to me (Tim) a couple of weeks ago.
I have uploaded them and they can be found at:
Great non-telescoped stuff from...
KBRG, KDAY, KDIA, KFRC-FM, KGBS, KGO-FM, KGO, KIKX, KIQI, KLIV,
KMPX, KNEW, KOA, KSFX, KTKT, KUSF, KYA-FM, KYA, XEPRS and XERB.
And of course KFOG's transition from Beautiful Muzak to the current
format. :-)
